Viva Las Vegas (and everything else)

Before I begin this post, I would like to apologize for my lack of blogging. I've come to the conclusion that I'm horrible at documenting my life through pictures, so I never have anything fun to look at when people read my blog! I still don't have many pictures for this post, but I'm going to work on getting better at my "remembering the camera" skills.

Big news in the Morgan family.............

I RECEIVED MY  DIPLOMA COVER!

After I finish Student Teaching in November, I will be a tried-and-true graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. :)

After Graduation, Trevor and I spent a good two and a half weeks with his family. First, we went camping up in Stanley, Idaho. If you've never been there, it should definitely be on your "Places to see before I die" list.

See what I mean? It's breath taking.

After we spent a week in camping paradise, we headed back to Oregon where we stayed at Trevor's parents house for a week and a half. It was so nice to spend time with the family and relax after a stressful semester at school. I even learned a few new things!
  1. How to fold a fitted sheet. I don't know about you, but that's always been a handicap of mine.
  2. How to cook AMAZING food. All week I kept saying, "This is the best _________ I've ever had!" My in-laws were beginning to think I've never eaten in my life.
  3. How to crochet! I made an impressive hot-pad and now I want to start a simple blanket. Crocheting is the perfect outlet for a fidgeter like me. :)

Once we left Oregon, we were "Las Vegas, Or Bust". We drove down through California and stopped at Trevor's Aunt and Uncle's BEAUTIFUL house. Staying at their house was better then staying at a 5 star hotel....seriously. We were so thankful they let us stay with them and for showing us around San Francisco. It's been one of my life long dreams to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and have my hand turn orange.

....it didn't turn orange...

The BRIDGE!

The Cute Couple. :)

Coit Tower!

The Grace Cathedral Doors

Trevor and I at Ghirardelli Square. We were pretty exhausted at this point...if you can't tell. :)

And now we're here in Las Vegas! I've started my student teaching already and I LOVE my students. I'm so excited to be working in a Performing Arts Middle School! These kids are learning musical concepts that I never learned until High School! It's great to see the that the arts are thriving here in Las Vegas, because throughout the rest of the country, it's becoming less and less supported.

My parents are moving here in less then a month, along with my brother, so it'll be nice to be close to family. :)
Maybe with my mom here there will be more pictures taken since she goes crazy over picture taking.

Other things we've done that don't have pictorial documentation:
  • Visted the Pawn Stars Pawn Shop.....twice.
  • My sister, Rachel, came to visit.
  • Got gelato at the Venetian.
  • Saw four different Elvis'
  • Bellagio Fountains (They were set to "My Heart Will Go On"....and I cried.)

Our First Apartment

People have told us so many times that the transition from the "single life" to "married life" would be a little rough. I don't know if it's because we've known each other for years or if it's because we're both so relaxed, but getting our own home and making it our own has been the most natural thing in the world! I love coming home to my best friend and always having him to vent to after a long day at school. It's like having a sleep over with your best friend, every night!

We LOVE our entertainment system! We have the Wii with a lot of games that we got from my brother, Jason, and we have the computer hooked up to our t.v. as well. It's really nice to be doing homework on the t.v. and then switch on the Wii when you're sick of doing your homework....actually, maybe that's not such a good thing. :)

We got the Lovesac from some good friends of ours from Trevor's hometown. They didn't have the space for it, so there trash became our good fortune. I love it when that happens. :)

You would not believe how much time we spend at this table. We eat here, we do our homework here, we play games here, etc. Our chairs are starting to break because we use them so much. Trevor thinks they're wearing out because I like to stand on them. He calls it "perching", but I'm really just trying to be taller then him. :)

This is our spare bedroom. We have a spare bed for guests when they come, but we have to clear off all of our junk first. There isn't much storage in our little apartment, so this is how we cope with it. It actually isn't too cluttered and we're able to still keep the things we'll want for when we'll have more space.

There's two nooks in the bathroom!!!  One for the laundry basket and one for towels! I love nooks. Nookie nookie nooks.

If you don't know what happens in here...you should watch the Charmin commercials with the bears. They're comfortable explaining it. :)

Look at our spaceship of a microwave! Thanks Isaac and Lacey! :)
And this is where all of the cooking creations take place! Since we've been married, I've been trying new recipes. Some work out great, and others get put into the "never again" list.

We love our new place, but we know that it's only temporary. We move out in July so to go down to Las Vegas for a few months for my student teaching. Trevor's so excited to go back to his mission and to be around the people he taught for two years! I'm glad I'll have him with me. I couldn't stand being separated from him for three months and it'll be nice knowing that he's familiar with the area.

As for now, we're happy to be where we are (minus the Rexburg weather). Even though our apartment is small, we realize how blessed we really are. My parent's first started out with a card table and a water bed...yeah, we're blessed...and so very thankful.

Mawage: A Dweam Wiffin a Dweam

Well, it's official...WE'RE MARRIED!!! It's been a long, twisted road, but neither of us would trade the five years we've waited to be together. I love being able to say that I married my best friend, and know that I really mean it. Trevor and I have grown so close to one another throughout the years, that the transition from the single life to married life was the smoothest it could ever be.

The wedding day was beautiful. We were sealed in the Bountiful, Utah temple at 2:30 pm on December 18, 2010. We were so blessed to have our closest friends and our loved ones present...although, that almost wasn't the case. My Aunt Mel and Uncle Steve graciously volunteered to pick up the bridal parties flowers at our reception hall to bring them over to the temple for pictures. And since it's a wedding day, something had to go awry. Bumper to bumper traffic. They made it though, with only a minute to spare. My aunt looked faint. It's a part of our wedding day that we'll never forget, that's for sure!

We're excited to see what the future holds for us and our new family that we've created. Yes, there will be tough times and some bumps in the road, but we are centering our marriage around the Lord and we know that as we stay close to Him and each other, our lives will be blessed.
